Functional Job Assessment
What is a Functional Job Assessment (FJA)
An assessment which describes the knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics necessary for job performance. It will outline a job’s essential functions, physical requirements, environmental conditions and behavioral and cognitive aspects of a job. Job analysis is the basis for matching worker’s abilities to job requirements in areas such as injury prevention, early intervention, ergonomics, gap analysis/rehabilitation goal setting, return to work decision making and vocational training/placement.
How does it work?
This assessment is completed on the jobsite by one of Alter Ergo’s experienced ergonomists. Each position within the workplace is analyzed. The ergonomist objectively quantifies, measures and describes the physical/functional components of the job, including the required tasks, movements, forces and postures to help develop and validate a resultant Functional Job Description report.
